There’s something about the sound of live music, the taste of tropical cocktails, and the rhythm of the ocean waves that makes any moment feel like a celebration.

That was exactly the energy at the grand opening of Lucky Fish Beach Bar + Grill Dania Beach, which made its lively debut on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.

The event blended festive Irish flair with carefree coastal charm, and I couldn’t have imagined a better way to spend the holiday than with a burger in hand and ocean views all around with my husband.

Set against the scenic stretch of sand at 65 N. Beach Road, the restaurant is the latest from LM Restaurants, the South Florida hospitality group known for turning beachside spaces into vibrant, welcoming destinations.

With the success of their other local favorites which include Oceanic in Pompano Beach, Lucky Fish Pompano, and The Cove in Deerfield Beach, the Moshakos family (Lou, Joy, and daughter Amber) have brought their signature style to Dania Beach, reviving a beloved location and giving it a fresh, fun twist.

One reason that we were thrilled to be there was because this beach is close to home for us, and now we were able to check out a spot that will surely become a favorite and one that we can bring loved ones and friends to.

Yes, it’s that good! Trust me.

A Grand Opening That Felt Like a Vacation

From the moment we stepped onto the property, the mood was electric.

The former Dania Beach Grill space now features a massive tiki bar, an elevated deck with oceanfront seating, and open-air spaces that invite guests to linger all day long. The design mixes laid-back beach bar charm with modern coastal details, making it feel both nostalgic and brand new at the same time.

As part of the grand opening festivities, guests were treated to live music, St. Patrick’s Day drink specials, and a vibrant crowd of locals and tourists soaking in the festive vibes.

Think tiki torches, sea breezes, and people laughing barefoot on the lawn as a band played covers of island classics.

As a Caribbean girl myself, one that was born and raised in Puerto Rico, this made me feel happy. It’s the type of place where you can eat, drink and then cross the parking lot right to the beach and relax for a day.

Drinks in Hand and Upbeat Conversations

The bar has some tempting drinks. It’s hard to choose, but I started with the Tropical Leprechaun, a colorful, fruity concoction that was as fun to look at as it was to sip.

While my husband sipped a rum and coke, we did also enjoy a smooth Jameson shot, both holiday favorites being served up all night long. We just said, “the party vibes made us do it.”

We did not regret those shots at all! And they were not even regretted the next day. It was a little moment of indulgence.

Feeling chill truly represented the atmosphere, which was relaxed and lively.

Bartenders and servers chatted with guests and servers delivering food and drinks with a smile.

It is the kind of place where time slows down and the only priority is enjoying the moment.

And, as a teacher, professor and writer there to report what this place is all about (as you can see, I wear many hats), I did not know just how much that moment was needed for me, one where I literally felt relaxed for a bit.

A Beachfront Meal to Remember

We settled into one of the comfortable bar-type stools facing the ocean, where we could hear the music, feel the breeze, and watch the waves roll in as we ordered dinner.

The Triple Treat Burger my husband chose was piled high and cooked just right. He said it was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor.

I opted for the Cheesesteak Sandwich, served hot with gooey cheese and perfectly seasoned beef, making for a satisfying and casual dinner that hit all the right notes.

It was cool that we were joined by a friend that was unexpectedly at the event, and the three of us spent time catching up over cocktails, swapping stories, and soaking in the relaxed, tropical atmosphere.

It didn’t feel like a Monday night. It felt like part of a tropical vacation.

Menu Highlights with a Coastal Twist

Helmed by Chef Ovidio “Nery” Leal, the menu at Lucky Fish Dania Beach mirrors the casual, vibrant style of its Pompano sibling. There’s a wide range of coastal-inspired favorites, including Tuna Poke Nachos, Killer Conch Fritters, Island Chopped Salad, and Hooked-Up Tacos.

For those who crave classic beach fare, you’ll find Fried Shrimp Baskets, Fish Sandwiches, and the hearty Mariner’s Platter.

For dessert? Do yourself a favor and try the Fried Oreos with Vanilla Sauce. They're playful, indulgent, and the perfect way to end a beachside meal.

In the mornings, Lucky Fish also serves a Grab & Go breakfast menu from 8 to 10:30 a.m., including items like bagels, croissants, pastries, and coffee. Heartier breakfast plates, like Lucky’s Breakfast Scramble and Hangover Hash, are also available, making this a go-to spot for early risers and those who love to attend weekend brunches alike.

Music, Community, and Coastal Spirit

What sets Lucky Fish apart isn’t just its food or location, it’s the sense of community and energy that flows through the space.

Live music is part of the regular experience, with performances Monday through Friday from 6-9 p.m. and on weekends from 3-6 p.m. This is all at no cost to guests.

The restaurant also plans to host seasonal events like Tiki by Twilight full moon parties, giving locals another reason to keep coming back.

A Must-Visit for Locals and Travelers Alike

Lucky Fish Dania Beach is more than just another beachfront restaurant. It’s a destination, a hangout, and a celebration of everything we love about Florida living.

Whether you're coming off the sand for a cocktail, planning a sunset dinner with friends, or just in the mood for a laid-back lunch with a view, Lucky Fish checks every box.

With friendly service, a menu full of flavorful comfort food, and an unbeatable oceanfront location, it’s easy to see why this spot is already becoming a local favorite.

And yes, we’re already planning our return for Hooked-Up Tacos, a cold beer, and another breezy night beneath the tiki lights. We just might eventually become regulars. Once you visit, you’ll understand why.
