With so many community-driven events, celebrations, and get-togethers, it has become difficult to manage your calendar.
It’s even worse for the organizations who want to avoid scheduling their various endeavors against another event. The OutLGBTQ website is attempting to help address this need and hope it will increase support and attendance of LGBTQ events across South Florida. On April 13, the website (nicknamed the “Gay Yellow Pages”) launched, allowing businesses and organizations to submit events for publication on the platform. Pre-Registration is currently open, with individuals who sign up during this stage receiving 6 months of free membership as part of the annual plan. All money received will be distributed to the organizations involved, supporting their unique efforts to mobilize the LGBTQ community.
It’s Hilty, Hunty!
Megan Hilty takes the stage at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Friday, April 24, at 8 p.m. Known for her powerhouse vocals, magnetic stage presence and celebrated performances across Broadway, television, and film, Hilty’s appearance has quickly become one of the most anticipated events of the season. While she is widely recognized for her portrayal of Ivy Lynn in the NBC musical drama “Smash,” Hilty first captured audiences on Broadway as Glinda in “Wicked,” later originating the role of Doralee Rhodes in “9 to 5: The Musical.” She recently took her final bow as Madeline Ashton in the hit Broadway musical adaptation of “Death Becomes Her,” which earned her a 2025 Tony Award nomination. Tickets are available at AventuraCenter.org.
Hit the Road, Jack
As Miami Beach’s only pedestrian commercial corridor and one of its most iconic public spaces, Lincoln Road serves as an open-air platform for temporary public art. New exhibits are being planned, and artists are invited to design, deliver, and install a custom art piece or pieces for exhibition on Lincoln Road. Proposals should include all applicable design details, hardware, and installation plans. More information and entry forms are available at LincolnRoad.com.
There’s A New WWW
The first annual Wilton Women’s Week kicks off April 25 and runs through May 4. It is a celebration of LGBTQ women and non-binary individuals hosted by The Pride Center at Equality Park and Women With Pride. The week is packed with social events, arts and entertainment, sports and recreation, and wellness and healing events. Its goal is to strengthen and support the women’s community in South Florida by highlighting LGBTQ woman-owned/managed businesses, and LGBTQ-friendly businesses, organizations, and individuals. The event has been planned and is managed by an all-volunteer committee, with support from Pride Center staff. It all starts with a warm-up cocktail party on April 24, at Inn on the Drive, followed by a Women’s Night at Island City Theatre for its production of Everything Beautiful Happens at Night.
On the official first day of Wilton Women’s Week, there will be a collaboration with Front Runners and Walkers, a Transformational Breathwork Experience, an opening night dance party at Hunters, “Wine Down” at Art Frenzie, and then, Traffic Jam at LIT Bar, with guest DJ's Zehno and Citizen Jane. The rest of the week is equally packed, featuring everything from a sunrise sea gathering to speed dating to aromatherapy wellness sensory experience, blacksmithing lessons, brunches, sports and, of course, dance parties.
