Earlier this year, Pride Center paused Equality Park After Dark, its monthly artisan market.

Now, they’re exploring what should come next, whether that’s a refreshed market, a social gathering, live entertainment, or an entirely new experience. They’d like the community to let them know what they’d like to see. Pride Center has put a survey online that takes no more than three minutes, for feedback to help them create something our community truly wants. Sing Out Loud and Proud 

The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida is holding auditions for the next season at Sunshine Cathedral, on Sept. 1. If you’d like to sing with the guys (and a few gals), go to gmcsf.org/auditions.

Dutch Treat 

Plays Of Wilton today announced that it will present the U.S. premiere of “Forbidden!”, a groundbreaking drama that was lost to time and widely regarded by many scholars as the world's first coming-out play. Written by Dutch novelist and playwright Jo M. van IJssel de Schepper-Becker (and originally presented in Rotterdam in 1922), public reaction to the play was immediate and hostile, leading to the show being cancelled after just two performances. 

Now, a century later, after being translated by theater historian Laurence Senelick, the play is being given new life in a limited engagement running through Sept. 29 at The Foundry, 2306 N. Dixie Highway. “Forbidden!” will have its official opening night on Thursday, August 27. Tickets are available at TicketTailor.com.
