Get ready for a holiday celebration like no other! The Wilton Manors Business Association, City of Wilton Manors, and HarmonyWaves, are teaming up for the Annual Holiday Spectacular on Monday, Dec. 9 at Richardson Park. The event, which runs from 6-9:30 p.m. will feature Tony Award-winning actress Alice Ripley and Emmy and Grammy Award-winning composer John McDaniel. General admission will be $30, with VIP tickets available.

Alice Ripley is known for her captivating performances in “Next to Normal” and “Sunset Boulevard.” She will perform classic holiday hits along with Broadway favorites. Accompanying her on piano will be John McDaniel, a celebrated composer, arranger, and music director best known for his work on “The Rosie O'Donnell Show” and as music director for “Annie Get Your Gun.” For tickets and more information, go to harmonywaves.org.

Just in time for Halloween, Slow Burn Theatre opens its new season with the South Florida premiere of “The Witches of Eastwick” on Oct. 19, running through Nov. 3 in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center. Based on the John Updike novel and the 1987 Hollywood film about three bored New England witches who conjure up a wicked lover and get more than they bargained for in a sexy and bewitching musical comedy filled with adult humor. Buy tickets online at BrowardCenter.org, or Ticketmaster.com; by phone at 954-462-0222, or in person at the Broward Center’s box office.

Arsht Center gets in the Halloween spirit with Tim Murray’s one-man show, “Witches.” “Murray presented the show at Island City last year and if you missed it then, now’s your chance to see it (or see it again!). It draws on the parallel between witches and the LGBTQ community. It’s part stand up, part drag show, part musical comedy and all fun. Arsht is also hosting a special screening of the iconic classic “Rocky Horror Picture Show” with special guest, the original Magenta, Patricia Quinn. The show will also feature a costume contest, memorabilia display with artifacts and costumes from the movie, and a performance by the local shadow cast that hilariously acts out the movie onstage while it plays onscreen. Zoetic Stage at the Arsht Center, kicks off its new season with a haunting dark comedy “The Pillowman,” which blends horror, comedy and psychological tension. Audiences will experience the drama up close and in the round in the Carnival Studio Theater. The production features an all-local cast of award-winning actors, including Ryan Didato, Michael McKeever, Gabriell Salgado and Seth Trucks. Go to arshtcenter.org for information and tickets on any of these events.

An artist is a purveyor of truth who uses art to tell personal stories influenced by the time in which they live. The exhibition, “Quintessentially We,” running Nov. 22-Jan. 18, celebrates “we” experiences and cultural connections in everyone's lives. The work explores a wide range of expressions in contemporary culture, including themes like aging, pregnancy, motherhood, regional and international connections, religious identity, ancestral heritage, clothing, hair, body identity, hyphenated cultural experiences, rituals, and familial celebrations. The free public exhibition is in the Main Gallery at the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, at 601 Lake Ave. in Lake Worth Beach.
