Thanks to many of the same folks behind HarmonyWaves, the long-neglected building at the East end of the mall on 26th St and Dixie is getting a total make-over. She’s been a movie theater, live theater, and auction house, and now she will be a multifunctional performance space known as The Gray Box Theater (Gray is the new black, don’t you know).

During a donors’ and press sneak peek at the space, we got to see the floor plans and sketches for what the new space will look like. It will provide a nice alternative to the more intimate spaces, such as The Foundry and Island City Stage, and larger venues, such as The Parker.

Public Art

Staying true to its title as Miami Beach’s largest open-air sculpture park, Lincoln Road has just unveiled three new large-scale bronze sculptures by globally acclaimed artist duo Gillie and Marc, continuing the district’s commitment to accessible, high-impact public art in the heart of South Beach. On view through July 2026, the newest additions follow a successful run in NYC and include the monumental 40-foot-long “Wild Couch Party,” plus two playful, gold-patina works: “Watch Out for Paparazzi Dog” and “Watch out for Paparazzi Rabbit.” Collectively, the contemporary pieces explore themes of wildlife conservation, individuality, and the power of public art to spark conversation and change. The new works expand the artists’ growing presence on Lincoln Road, following the 2024 debut of “The Giraffe and Chimpanzee Were on a Wild Ride…” and “The White Rhino Bench of Friendship,” both still on view.

Vice Is Nice

The Norton Museum of Art turns to its own collection for “The Virtue of Vice: The Art of Social Commentary,” open through Jan. 4, 2026. Regina Palm, Senior Curator of Modern Art, has assembled more than 25 works on paper that reflect how artists have drawn upon social commentary as a means of artistic expression. From the great Spanish artist Francisco de Goya to American Modernist Peggy Bacon, artists have sought to draw attention to the shortcomings of society as well as what might be seen as the underbelly, shining a light on subjects often kept in the shadows despite their timeless relevance. Whether they address poverty and sexual exploitation, drinking, gambling, no topic or vice was off-limits to the artists represented in this exhibition.
