When it comes to being an artist Kristopher DeBlase was just born this way.
“From the age of 5, I knew where I wanted to go to college and that art was what I was born to do,” he said. “Every artist evolves over time, but the core of my inspirations has remained the same, pulling from the beauty and pain around me.”
DeBlase won this year’s Reader’s Choice award for Best Artist.
“I am truly grateful and honored,” he said. “I also want to congratulate all other winners and nominees for helping make our community so special.”
As an artist, he works with various mediums but “loves to combine mediums to create different textures while adding elements of surrealism.” He draws his inspiration from nature.
DeBlase is from Maryland and has lived in South Florida for eight years.
His next project will combine his poetry with nature-inspired imagery.
