Lesbian Couple Beaten By Group Of Men

A lesbian couple in Canada were beaten by a group of men while walking home from a birthday celebration. The altercation was caught on camera.

According to Pink News, Emma MacLean and her girlfriend, Tori, were reportedly walking home when they were confronted by a group of 10 men, one of whom had made a “sexually degrading” comment towards them.

“We are extremely thankful that things were not worse [but] I’m terrified to go downtown again in Halifax,” said MacLean.

The couple was punched and kicked in the face and ribs, suffering multiple injuries.

The incident is under investigation, as one of the men in the video told police that MacLean initiated the fight after she attacked the men.

Tokyo Marathon organizers are adding a nonbinary identity option to applications ahead of the 2025 event.

According to Pink News, athletes will be able to choose from male, female, and the new nonbinary option as they register for next year’s race, which is expected to host around 38,000 runners.

“We aim to create a more inclusive society through Tokyo Marathon 2025, and will promote sustainability efforts aimed at creating a warm and friendly event that takes into consideration people with disabilities and LGBTQ+ in particular,” said the Tokyo Marathon Foundation in a statement.

Other races, such as the London Marathon and the New York City Marathon, have also added the option in recent years.

Scottish Govt Advised To Halt Puberty Blockers

The Scottish government has been advised to pause puberty blockers until further research is conducted in the area.

According to the BBC, this advice is one of many from a team looking to analyze how the Cass review on gender services for children and young people could be applied in Scotland.

The Cass review, a controversial report published in April by Dr. Hilary Cass, called for gender services for young people to match the standards of other NHS care.

“The Cass Review identified the need to ensure that gender identity services for young people are more closely aligned with other areas of clinical practice, and that responsibility for the full range of services required should extend beyond specialist services,” said Professor Graham Ellis, Scotland's Deputy Chief Medical Officer.

Now, according to Scottish health secretary Neil Gray, the report's findings will be considered and used in "reforming and improving" gender healthcare across the country.

This announcement was made the day after the general election and is being revered, by Scottish Conservative deputy leader Meghan Gallacher as a "cowardly attempt to sneak this out when everyone’s gaze is elsewhere.”
