When I was invited to experience a one-day trip to the Exuma Cays at the Bahamas, not only was I very excited to see another side of the area, but I was very eager to experience a one-day experience with Makers Air.
The Makers Air airline now offers an opportunity for interested travelers to visit Exuma Cays. The one-day experience is a beautiful one for those interested in relaxation, a day of excursions through the beautiful and pristine Bahamas oceans, but they will be treated to a variety of fun and unique adventures through Staniel Cay.
Being there is a magical experience, especially for those with busy schedules that need a break from the stressful daily grind, and those looking to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary. After experiencing this, I am even a bigger believer when it comes to gifting experiences versus physical gifts. It’s simply special.
Once visitors get to the Bahamas, they are immediately whisked away on an excursion that covers the best of the best on the island.
The excursion, which has the option of a private experience, includes all sorts of popular and unique experiences. Not only that but customize your itinerary according to your preferences and interests, which makes it more of a well-paced experience. Imagine it for families, couples, and small groups who have never had the chance to closely experience the beauty of hidden gems that at times are not accessible by larger boats or cruise ships, who give even more limited time at specific ports.
When our group arrived, we were warmly greeted by a personal boat captain and first mate. They were very enthusiastic and kind and were very responsible when it came to our safety and comfort during the tour. Your choices for exploring include snorkeling, swimming with pigs, visiting secluded islands or you can choose to just relax on the beach. Or you can plan to do it all! We did and were able to experience it all in one day. We advise taking an early flight and the latest flight available to enjoy the best day that you can thanks to Makers Air and their recommendations.
Some of the top experiences that we had a chance to explore during our day were stops at a sandbar that’s only available at specific times before the water overtakes it. We recommend that you take the time to dig in the sand…you might find some gorgeous seashells!
We experienced seeing the famous swimming pigs and fed them, then we had the chance to pet nurse sharks at a relaxing stop where you could also enjoy a local beer and some local food. A highlight was also when we visited a beach full of endangered and protected rock iguanas. They were friendly to visitors, and I recommend roaming and taking pictures with as many as you can.
Anotyher cool offer is that of snorkeling the James Bond Thunderball Grotto and the site of a Sunken Airpline. Also, when you get hungry, we recommend a stop at the world-famous Staniel Cay Yacht Club for lunch. Their offerings of local food and cocktails are amazing. We recommend the Mai Tai and as a starter the crab cakes or conch fritters. You won’t regret it!
