Rainbow Sports League (RSL) is offering a new and accessible way to have athletic fun.
The LGBTQ-friendly business is hosting Fort Lauderdale’s first open play week beginning Sept. 30, where adults of all skill levels can sample what each of their five sports leagues has to offer.
Players can choose from ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, kickball, soccer and pickleball.
The first league open to all players for the week is ultimate Frisbee, which takes place from 7-9 p.m. at Osswald Park in Fort Lauderdale.
Outdoor volleyball, which will be held from 7-9 p.m. at Mickel Park in Wilton Manors, offers 6v6 and 4v4 play. The former will occur on Oct. 1, while the latter will happen on Oct. 3.
Also at Mickel Park is kickball, occurring from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 5.
Outdoor soccer will be held at 7-9 p.m. at Mills Pond Park. Games are 7v7 and start on Oct. 2.
From 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 6 is indoor pickleball. The open play will happen at the L.A. Lee YMCA in Fort Lauderdale.
Following the open play week, each respective sport will kick off its season on Oct. 7. Signups are on RSL’s website at rainbowsportsleague.com.
Whether you’re looking for championship titles or social opportunities, the open play week will offer a chance for players to get a glimpse at what to expect for the season.
