The Nadadores Swim Team could be the perfect fit for swimmers of all skill levels looking to refine their abilities.
Nadadores, a Miami-based and LGBTQ-friendly swim group, holds practices at Charles Hadley Pool on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m., as well as Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
If you’re not sold, the first two consecutive practices are free.
Corey Welch, a Nadadores board member-at-large, said swimmers can show up to their first practice stress-free.
“Day one, [you’ll] be greeted by the coach on deck who will do their best to place the swimmer in the proper group,” Welch said.
Nadadores has three groups at each practice divided by speed. Welch said the coach writes a new workout for each practice, and tailors it for each individual group. Practices, which usually see roughly 15-30 people in attendance, can range from about 2,000 yards and up to 4,000 yards. They also may focus on a variety of strokes or individual ones.
Practices are year-round, and Welch said some teams compete in local or international competitions.
Cost varies based on your interest level, ranging from $40-80 monthly options to an unlimited $715 annual price.
