Pride On The Block Turns Six With A Peach-Perfect Party

West Palm Beach is about to spill some serious peach tea. On Saturday, June 7, the sixth annual Pride on the Block takes over The Peach for its biggest fundraiser yet.

From its humble 2020 debut, the party has evolved into a marquee kick-off for Pride Month. It has drawn crowds from across South Florida while raising every dime for Transpire Help, the hometown nonprofit that keeps LGBTQ folks in recovery housed, healthy, and heard.

Founded in 2016, Transpire Help is a nonprofit organization that bridges the gap between queer people seeking sobriety from drugs and/or alcohol and the resources that make recovery stick. The nonprofit redirects community donations into treatment scholarships, affirming sober-living placements, essential medications, gender-affirming care, and consistent mental-health support. Just as crucial, its volunteers fan out across South Florida rehabs with an “LGBTQ Cultural Awareness” workshop that trains clinicians and techs to create safer, stigma-free spaces for queer clients. In short, Transpire Help is both lifeline and loudspeaker — funding recovery today while teaching the treatment industry to do better tomorrow.

The event will dish up all-day bites, nonstop beats, and a lineup of live acts of high-camp drag. Topping the bill is “RuPaul’s Drag Race” sensation Suzie Toot, who will serve as the Headlining Performer for Pride on the Block.

In an interview with Suzie Toot, the star shared she’s “thrilled” to return to Palm Beach and calls it “such an honor” to serve as the event’s headliner.

“Pride on the Block was the first Pride I ever went to,” Toot said when asked about what drew her to the gig. “It feels amazing to be headlining Pride in my own hometown. A full-circle moment.”

The work done by Transpire Help “means a lot” to Toot. “The most important thing about the queer community, especially now, is our resilience and our comradery. The work Transpire Help does is monumentally important in this political climate.”

Alongside Toot, there will be performances from Priince Triila, Sarah Needleman, Ground Zero, Tuesday N Triila, Kash Fergold, Goddess Labeija, Salma Love, Angie Ovahness Pryce, Rella Vixx, Emilio Bad Side Records, and more.

What can fans expect from her set?

“You’re going to have to come and find out!” Toot teased. “I’ve got a great show planned that I’m thrilled to perform for y’all. I’m most looking forward to reuniting with my Palm Beach community.”

The event will be at The Peach, located at 3950 Georgia Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33405, from 1-11 p.m.
