The "journey of recovery" refers to the process of healing and regaining well-being, often used in the context of mental health and addiction recovery. It's a multifaceted process involving acknowledging and accepting challenges, seeking help, developing coping mechanisms, and ultimately building a fulfilling life.
OutSFL recently reached out to the CEO of Transpire Help, Donna Weinberger, to find out more about the organization.
"At Transpire Help we work with some of the most vulnerable members of our community, we have built treatment spaces specifically for the LGBTQ+ community because too many rehab centers fail to understand our realities. Therefore, we make an extra effort to provide trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming treatment spaces. At Pride Detox, QSpace Detox, and Inspire Recovery, we center queer and trans experiences in every part of care. Through our nonprofit, Transpire Help, we ensure LGBTQ+ individuals in crisis without resources still get support and have access to housing, basic essentials, and affirming care. Many LGBTQ+ people avoid treatment because they've been mistreated in healthcare settings. Here we have seen people come in feeling like they had nothing left, and leave with hope and purpose."
We asked Weinberger what it meant to her and her organization to partner with OUTSFL, and she enthusiastically said, “OutSFL helps us reach people who might not know that affirming options exist. As a partner, we're not just promoting services, we are building visibility and connections."
