"A lie is not an answer." This is what my new hero, MSNBC journalist, and former writer on “The West Wing” Lawrence O’Donnell recently said.
Last week the convicted felon, and Republican nominee for President, emerged from Mar-a-Lago to hold a “press conference.” What it actually was was another love fest from mainstream media reporters (MSM) asking ridiculous questions.
Questions viewers were unable to hear, matched with nonsensical “answers” from the now disgraced, twice impeached, one term former POTUS.Every network carried the entire debacle LIVE while none of the networks aired Harris’s rally in Vegas the same night. A rally three million people watched live on YouTube.
It’s like Groundhog Day. Trump standing at a podium lying, rambling on and on like the senile old man he is. Sharks and Hannibal Lector and crowd sizes. Why are no MSM reporters able to stand up and say, “I’m sorry sir, but that is not true.”?
O’Donnell was blistering in his response, scolding the networks for not fact checking live – which they all have the capacity to do so. “It would be hard to find a sentence today that did not include one lie,” the MENBC host explained. “DT never answers reporters’ questions. Anyone in the news media that tells you he does is lying to you,” he added.
The media promised us after the 2016 election that they had learned their lessons covering Trump. Last week showed they have not.
