In Tallahassee, Florida, a federal judge has ruled that a transgender woman teacher no longer has to be referred to as “Mr.” or “teacher” in the classroom, citing first amendment protections. Instead, she can use “Ms.” and female pronouns.

Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed in a post to X, that the eclipse, which traversed a large swath of the U.S. last week, showed that "God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent," including "earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come." Just when you think that things cannot get any stupider you get this kind of malarkey.

At a recent dinner for Human Rights Watch, it was speculated by people at my table that the reason there were fewer people attending than the year before was, in part, because of the HRW report that concluded Israel was guilty of apartheid-like treatment of Arabs in their territory.
