Get your paws ready! The VCA Walk for the Animals is happening on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the beautiful Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park. This highly anticipated event is celebrating 34 years of animal lovers coming together to support the Humane Society of Broward County.
The one-mile walk is accompanied by vendor booths, entertainment, prizes and more. Walk participants who gather donations will receive gifts for different fund-raising levels reached starting at $150 which will earn you the official Walk t-shirt. For those who raise $1,000 or more, your dog will be entered in a contest for a chance to be the 2025 Walk Cover Dog. The 2024 Cover Dog is 12-year-old Anni who resides in Pembroke Pines with her human parents Michelle and Clinton Watson.
Event Chairs Carey Morgan of Fort Lauderdale and Cover Dog’s mom Michelle are thrilled to be chairing the event, along with Jacey Birch of WPLG Local 10 News, Korby Ray from Easy 93.1 and Jade Alexander from Hits 97.3 who are emceeing. Registration is open at Walk4theAnimals.com. You can choose to register either as an individual or have fun raising money as a team by creating a Pack. Once registered, you can customize your own fundraising page and ask family, friends, and co-workers to join you or donate and post on social media, all with the click of a button.
There is no registration fee, but the VCA Walk for the Animals is the Humane Society of Broward County’s largest fundraiser of the year. Donations and sponsorships received allow the shelter to continue caring for the thousands of homeless animals that come to the facility yearly. In addition, the shelter offers many programs and services such as low-cost vaccinations, educational programs, and surrender prevention – all funded in part by animal lovers who participate in the Walk.
For those who would like to help the animals but cannot make it to the celebration on Feb. 3, you can still fundraise and be a virtual walker by raising money.
Funds raised from the Walk help HSBC to continue building a more humane community. Be a part of this fabulously fun event and help the animals at the same time! Learn more at Walk4theAnimals.com or contact
