Six months later, the verdict hasn’t changed. OutSFL readers continue to overwhelmingly reject President Donald Trump’s leadership, with 90% saying they disapprove of his job performance — identical to the results from April’s survey.
While national polls suggest a very divided nation, support among the LGBTQ community in South Florida remains resolutely opposed to Trump’s second term. Only 8% of respondents voiced approval, with another 2% undecided or had no opinion.
These numbers are identical to the OutSFL survey results from April.
“We Americans are being physically and mentally abused under this administration. It must stop,” one respondent wrote. Another said: “He has done nothing more than create hate, fear, negativity and division! I despise him and that is putting it lightly!”
The consistency in these numbers suggests attitudes toward Trump among OutSFL readers have solidified — not softened — as his second term continues.
Nationally, Trump’s approval ratings remain far more divided. According to the RealClearPolitics average, 51.5% of Americans disapprove of his presidency — nearly identical to April’s 50.6%.
“The recent cease fire in Gaza is a laudatory event to the Donald’s credit,” another respondent wrote. “There is little else to praise him for. He’s a bully with a black heart.”
The OutSFL survey also asked readers how Trump’s policies have affected them personally. About 84% said they’ve been impacted negatively, while just 6% reported a positive effect. Another 7% said his policies have had no impact on their lives with another 2% undecided or had no opinion.
A few readers did voice support for the president:
- “He is fixing this country and cleaning out the swamp. As a gay married man I support the president.”
- “Gay does not always equal Democrat. I'm much more than just ‘gay’ – a father, business person, retired military, family guy … one aspect of my life does not determine my overall political beliefs.”
- “He is making America great again.”
