The annual Mizz OutSFL Pageant returns Monday, May 19, spotlighting South Florida’s drag excellence while raising funds for LGBTQ college scholarships. Hosted at the Aquaplex in Fort Lauderdale, doors open at 5:15 p.m. and the pageant begins at 6. Last year’s winner was drag superstar Erika Norell, a former Miss Florida and Miss Continental. Founded in 2024 by OutSFL, the Mizz OutSFL Pageant is more than a celebration of drag — it’s a fundraiser supporting LGBTQ students pursuing higher education.
Night two, Thursday, May 22, marks the debut of the OutSFL Pride Gala, held at the Crystal Ballroom at the Venue in Wilton Manors. The evening begins at 7 p.m. and will honor the newly crowned Mizz OutSFL, announce this year’s Marsha P. Johnson Award winner, and raise funds for the Melissa St. John Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $25 and 100 percent of the sales benefit the scholarship.
“More than ever, it’s critical that the LGBTQ community and its allies rally to support our future,” said OutSFL CEO Justin Wyse. “In an oppressive climate, we must ensure our students have the resources to thrive, lead, and reshape the world we live in.”
Erika Norell returns to headline the gala's entertainment, with legendary queen Melissa St. John, OutSFL’s Queen of Queens and Miss Florida FI Honorary Supreme 2024, hosting the evening.
