There are certain places that become part of your routine without ever feeling routine. For my husband Sebastian and me, Disney Springs has long been one of those places. It’s where we go when we want something reliable but still exciting, familiar but still evolving. Between busy semesters, deadlines, and travel schedules, Disney Springs has become a comfort spot for us, somewhere that feels easy and enjoyable every time we get on the road to Orlando to visit our happy place.
So when we were invited to experience Morimoto Asia, it felt like the perfect excuse to try a restaurant that had been on our list for years, and Sebastian’s first visit made the evening feel even more special.
Morimoto Asia brings a different energy to Disney Springs. The space feels modern and polished but not intimidating, with an open kitchen that highlights the precision behind many of the dishes. Led by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, the restaurant blends Japanese, Chinese, and Korean influences into a menu that feels both elevated and approachable.
The Food: Refined but still comforting
The menu is extensive in the best possible way. It allows guests to explore different flavors across Asia while still finding dishes that feel familiar and satisfying.
One of the most talked-about signature items is the Peking Duck, carved and served with house-made sauces and choice of bao, tortillas, or lettuce wraps, a dish designed to be shared and enjoyed slowly.
Other standout options include the Buri-Bop, a Korean-style yellowtail rice bowl served in a hot clay pot and prepared tableside with egg yolk, creating a rich and layered dish that feels both interactive and memorable.
For guests who enjoy comforting classics, the Tonkotsu Ramen features a rich pork broth paired with roasted pork belly, mushrooms, and soy-marinated egg, while the Gomoku Fried Rice blends duck, chicken, pork, shrimp, and vegetables with a slightly spicy finish.
Dim sum and small plates also play a major role on the menu, including pork dumplings, shumai, lettuce wraps, and crispy popcorn shrimp with gochujang aioli.
For sushi lovers, there are curated sashimi selections and beautifully presented platters that make the experience feel shareable and social, perfect for date nights or group dinners.
What I appreciated most is how the menu balances creativity with accessibility. You can try something adventurous like wagyu prepared tableside or stay closer to familiar flavors with orange chicken or lo mein.
Cocktails and drinks worth exploring
The drink menu adds another layer to the experience. Morimoto Asia offers a mix of sake, Japanese beer, and creative cocktails that complement the food without overpowering it.
Cocktails like the Shirayuri (White Lily) combine citrus vodka with yuzu and Calpico for a refreshing, slightly floral flavor profile, while the Sake Sangria blends sake with fruit and light wine for something balanced and easy to sip throughout the meal.
Non-alcoholic options also feel thoughtful rather than basic, including drinks like the Lychee Lemon Soda, Dragon’s Roar with dragon fruit and yuzu, and specialty teas.
The restaurant even offers a collaboration citrus blonde ale created for its anniversary, reflecting the creative approach behind the overall beverage program.
Why it works at Disney Springs
Disney Springs continues to evolve as a dining destination, and Morimoto Asia fits perfectly into that landscape. The restaurant manages to feel elevated without losing the welcoming energy that makes Disney Springs so enjoyable. Whether you are visiting for a special occasion or simply looking for something memorable during a casual evening walk around the area, the experience feels balanced and intentional.
For Sebastian and me, this visit felt like discovering a new favorite within a place that already holds meaning for us. It reminded me how dining can be part of storytelling because each visit becoming part of a larger narrative tied to travel, work, and shared moments.
Morimoto Asia delivers an experience that feels polished but still comfortable, creative but still approachable. And sometimes, those are the restaurants that stay with you the longest.
