Bo’s Beach has reopened with a splash, and the vibes represent that pure Florida Keys magic, yet set right here in sunny South Florida.

So, consider us lucky to have this type of relaxed escape in Fort Lauderdale, meant to be enjoyed with those who are also looking to kick back, relax and enjoy a bite with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Just steps from the sand, this escape now offers fresh energy, tropical flair, and an upgraded space that feels like paradise. During my visit, I realized that this is the type of beachy spot that locals crave to visit for a day or night out by the ocean breeze and to enjoy yummy food, cocktails and a truly laid-back atmosphere. Imagine sipping a cocktail with the sunshine peeking into the breezy dining room as you listen to the ocean breeze that reminds you that this is exactly where you’re meant to be.

Whether you’re a local searching for your new weekend hangout or a visitor eager to soak up South Florida’s flavor, Bo’s Beach has once again become the place to be.

Walking in, it’s clear the renovation embraced a Key West spirit from top to bottom. A lively coat of beachy green paint greets guests, while Adirondack chairs, colorful pillows, neon signs, and coastal-inspired art transform the restaurant into a playful island escape. Add in the laidback booths and directional signs pointing you toward fun, and it’s easy to forget you’re not at mile marker zero. Every corner of the space radiates energy, from the whimsical wall art to the vibrant accents that practically shout, “vacation mode.” Bo’s Beach also now boasts a brand-new stage where select local musicians keep the energy flowing with island-style tunes, upbeat rhythms, and beachside classics in a laid-back environment.

Of course, the food steals the spotlight thanks to Chef Eduardo Guerra’s Keys-inspired menu. Fresh seafood and tropical flavors are everywhere, from oysters and conch fritters to shrimp ceviche and snow crab claws. Appetizers invite you to share, while soups like the stone crab chowder and salads like Maine lobster and ahi tuna stack bring big flavor to lighter bites.

For something heartier, the spot offers wood-fired pizzas like the Sunset with blackened shrimp and roasted red peppers, and the Bo’s Beach with prosciutto and arugula with shaved Parmesan. Fans of sandwiches can opt for the blackened grouper Reuben, shrimp po’boy, or the indulgent lobster roll, while those who enjoy burgers can go all out and order the ultimate bacon and cheese smash burger.

The entrées make sure no one leaves hungry: beer-battered fish and chips, mahi-mahi tacos with mango salsa, a churrasco steak with chimichurri, or lobster mac ‘n’ cheese that feels like comfort food dressed up for the beach. There’s also crispy shrimp, hot honey fried chicken with mac ‘n’ cheese, and the daily fresh catch served with tropical touches like mango salsa and black beans and rice.

Tempting desserts include the tangy key lime pie, a brownie skillet sundae, or a scoop of affogato.

To toast the reopening, Bo’s Beach is rolling out its Sunset Happy Hour, Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. This golden-hour special invites you to sip $12 tropical cocktails, $5 domestic drafts, $6 imports, and $8 wines while enjoying bar bites like crispy firecracker shrimp or smoked mahi-mahi dip.

For those who want to take their view even higher, La Playa Rooftop, which is perched just above Bo’s Beach, offers panoramic ocean scenes and a breezy, open-air atmosphere. Open Friday through Sunday, this rooftop escape feels tailor-made for lazy lunches, sunset cocktails, and late-night hangouts with friends. Available all week for private events, La Playa is also a stunning spot to host everything from birthdays to corporate gatherings, blending coastal relaxation with stylish sophistication. With live music below and unmatched views above, it’s easy to see how this revitalized space brings something for everyone.

Whether you arrive in flip-flops, straight off the sand, or dressed for a night out, Bo’s Beach is ready to welcome you with that relaxed Florida Keys feeling and a menu that will capture the heart of those who enjoy casual dining with a twist.

And, a lot of fun, of course. Expect a lot of it as well, so come ready to dine and to bask in the upbeat energy of the restaurant.
