How do you identify? Gay.
Age
46.
Occupation?
Actor/Activist.
Where do you live?
Tamarac/Los Angeles.
What are you looking for in a partner?
“Resting Smiley Face.” I’m a passionate guy with a peaceful vibe, so I’m all about high passion and low drama. I’m drawn to someone whose default setting is kindness but knows exactly how to turn up the heat when it matters.
Biggest turn off?
Constant negativity. If you’re always ranting about the movies, people, or food you hate instead of savoring life’s little joys, we probably won’t click. I keep a gratitude journal — if that’s too corny for you, it’s a sign we’re not on the same wavelength.
Biggest turn on?
Versatility. Whether it’s a dive bar or the White House, The Eagle or church, I’m drawn to men who refuse to be boxed in — those who confidently embrace growth and boldly explore all that life has to offer. That and cute butts.
Hobbies?
I’m a stand-up comic, so comedy clubs are basically my second home. For fun, I’m all about live entertainment — especially musicals. I’m usually juggling three books at once, love painting with watercolors, working out, traveling, and spending quality time with the kids in my family. Thrift stores, antique shops, flea markets, and estate sales are my treasure hunts. I’m a total geek for all things art, design, and urban planning. Plus, I’ve got a green thumb and feel most at peace in or near any body of water.
Any charitable/volunteer work?
I’m deeply committed to leaving the world better than I found it. Playing an HIV-positive character on HBO’s Looking led me to become a fierce ally to the cause as an ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, and this spring marks my 10th year lobbying Congress in D.C. I’ve also raised funds and advocated for organizations like The Trevor Project, Lambda Legal, and the Alzheimer’s Association. As a survivor of conversion therapy, I co-created the podcast Yass Jesus to help heal LGBTQ+ church hurt. I’m also an active member of the Metropolitan Community Church, continuing to advocate for love, equality, and acceptance.
Pets/kids/neither?
I don’t have pets or kids, but I absolutely love dogs — and I’m a world-class Guncle to nine amazing kids.
What’s your love language?
I’m an exceptional gift giver and thrive on offering heartfelt Words of Affirmation. But to truly ignite my heart, I need Acts of Service and Physical Touch — they’re my ultimate fuel for connection.
What’s your favorite date night activity?
Although I really value a good night at home of cuddles and movies, I’m really excited and intrigued but traveling and doing new experiences with someone. If there’s a unique event or new restaurant to eat at or show I haven’t seen, I get pretty happy.
What’s your favorite self-care activity?
Self-care for me is all about balance and growth. I love sunbathing and getting massages — they’re regular rituals that help me recharge. Spending time with friends and family is my soul food, but I also find joy in learning new things, gaining knowledge about the world, and exploring others’ lived experiences. It’s all about nurturing both the body and the mind.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Definitely clothes. I have way too many.
One obscure fact about yourself?
I’m nearly finished securing my dual citizenship to Italy — so, technically, I’m almost an international man of mystery. I’m learning Italian and Portuguese, but I also know some Spanish and Sign Language. There’s something thrilling about diving into new languages — it’s like unlocking different worlds. Also, I’m very good at Ms. Pac-Man.
What's your motto?
Reach up as far as you can and God will reach done the rest of the way. It was on a sampler my Nana made in her house and I took it so literal as a kid I would try and touch the ceiling from the top bunk bed when I prayed.
