Pride Month 2025 is bursting with events across South Florida that highlight LGBTQ joy Indie
PRIDE AND JOY
Indie Pride 2025 will take place on Friday, June 6, from 7-10 p.m. at the Sunshine Cathedral Center for the Performing Arts. It is intended as a safe space for people of all ages to celebrate the LGBTQ community. It will feature live music from independent (indie) local bands, vendors, raffles, and resources provided by local nonprofit organizations. All profits will be donated to Pridelines.
PRIDE AND MUSIC
Miami Beach Classical Music Festival’s summer concert series runs from May 31 through Aug. 31. It kicks off with a Miami Beach Pride Concert on May 31 and June 1 on Ocean Dr. and 12th St., and will be followed by Independence Day fireworks and a concert of patriotic music at Lummus Park. It will be capped off by an immersive Galactic Symphony from July 26 through Aug. 31 at Temple Emanu-El, where Miami Beach’s first permanent immersive theater will be unveiled in the grand ballroom of Temple Emanu-El, which has been transformed into a state-of-the-art venue with 360-degree projection mapping surrounding audiences in sight and sound.
PRIDE AND ART
Arts at St. Andrew’s will present “Equally Divine: The Real Story of the Mona Lisa,” at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in downtown Lake Worth Beach on May 30 and June 1. “Equally Divine” celebrates the genius of Leonardo da Vinci and explores the possibility that there were two models for Mona Lisa: a beautiful Florentine matron and a young man, an apprentice and lover of Leonardo. The show celebrates gay history not as marginal and closed, but as central and important in Western culture. Transgender actor Karmen Paley portrays both Leonardo da Vinci and Mona Lisa. The score includes Italian music from the time of Leonardo and works by 20th-century composers. Free and open to the public; a love offering will benefit Compass Community Center.
