Wilton Manors now has a taste of authentic Southern Italy, thanks to Dominico Caruso, a passionate restaurateur with a rich history in the food industry. Caruso’s, his newest venture, promises a warm and welcoming atmosphere filled with delicious home-cooked Italian dishes and a genuine sense of community.
A Culinary Journey from Calabria, Italy to Brooklyn and Beyond
Born in Calabria, Italy, in 1963, Caruso’s love for food began at an early age. At just 9 years old, he immigrated to Brooklyn, New York, in 1973, where his culinary journey truly took shape. By age 11, he was already working in an Italian butcher shop, learning the art of quality meats and traditional food preparation. His dedication led him to a 20-year career in the butcher’s union, giving him invaluable expertise in fine ingredients and authentic Italian flavors.
Caruso’s entrepreneurial spirit soon took over, and he opened his first gourmet Italian deli in Brooklyn, running it successfully for three years. In 2012, he launched his first Italian restaurant in Oakland Park, which thrived for a decade of success. Now, he’s bringing his passion and experience to Wilton Manors with Caruso’s, a restaurant that promises tasty Southern Italian cuisine in a fun, happy, and welcoming setting.

My personal favorite was the four cheese pizza. It was absolutely incredible with the tastiest cheeses and the crust was amazing.
It’s critical that we support our local community businesses that give back to all of us in such consequential ways. Thank you for your support.
