The Sixth Annual South Florida LGBTQ Philanthropy Awards was held on Jan. 6, hosted by The Our Fund Foundation, with Bank of America Private Bank as the presenting sponsor.

The event celebrated remarkable contributions to the LGBTQ community in South Florida, recognizing philanthropy, volunteerism, and emerging leadership. It took place at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, with a cocktail reception in the lower courtyard before the ceremony in the Mary Porter Riverview Ballroom.

Events like this are so important to recognize community leaders who are making such a consequential difference in our community. Events like this also inspire others to elevate their own involvement and participation to do what they can in a bigger way to do to make a difference.

Congratulations to this year’s recognized leaders. Thank you, Our Fund, for your amazing contribution to our community.

David Jobin, President and CEO of The Our Fund Foundation, expressed pride in honoring those whose generosity and vision help make South Florida a welcoming place for LGBTQ individuals. The event featured a guest speech by Tiffany Eubanks-Saunders, Head of Diverse Segments at Bank of America Private Bank, who leads national and local strategies to support underserved client segments like the LGBTQ+ community.

This year’s awardees included:

  • The Warten Foundation (Philanthropist of the Year) – The foundation continues the legacy of its late founder, Fredrick Warten, and supports LGBTQ causes in South Florida.
  • Melba DeLeon (Commitment to a Cause Award) – A dedicated member of the South Florida nonprofit community for nearly two decades, Melba has worked with organizations like Pridelines and Unity Coalition to support LGBTQ rights and services.
  • Jeff Delmay (Next Generation Philanthropy Award) – A key figure in securing marriage rights for LGBTQ couples in Florida, Jeff continues his advocacy through roles at Equality Florida and The Joy Ride.

The Our Fund Foundation, founded in 2011, is South Florida's largest LGBTQ+ community foundation, promoting philanthropy, managing investments, and making grants to improve the lives of LGBTQ people in the region.
