If you like tribute shows, Maltz Jupiter Theatre has them in spades, starting with “The Beat Goes On,” a tribute to the one and only Cher, on Jan. 28, 2025. Your 2025 calendar will be filled with dates, as Maltz presents tributes to Meatloaf, The Beatles, George Michael, Elton John, The Drifters, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Dolly Parton, The Bee Gees, James Taylor, and Forever Motown.

ULTRA POSH

To celebrate the Ultra Music Festival, taking place March 22-24, the Intercontinental Miami offers a four-night package giving attendees amazing proximity to all the action (you can see the festival from the hotel’s SkyLawn roof deck). On Friday and Saturday, the hotel will feature Late Night Beats with live DJs – spinning poolside and center stage in the hotel lobby, creating the ultimate after-party. For more information on the Ultra weekend package, programming, and talent lineup – which includes headliner Robbie Rivera – check out icmiamihotel.com.

HELLOOOO AND HAGGIS FOR EVERYONE

Everyone’s favorite Scottish nanny is headed to Fort Lauderdale! Rob McClure will reprise his Tony-nominated Broadway performance in “Mrs. Doubtfire” on tour alongside co-star (and actual wife!) Maggie Lakis at The Broward Center April 9-21.

THE RETURN OF THE 1970S VARIETY SHOW

… comes to Hunters this week. Pam Ann lands on stage on Feb. 29 with her “Reigning the Sky” tour. Then on March 5, Todd Alsup brings us “Elton Undressed” with guest stars Yoli Mayor, Joao Santos, Matthew Darren, Alexander Zenos, and Jonathan Hawkins. I caught these guest stars in Key West in December as part of the Provincetown in the Keys festival and they are fantastic. Then Drew Sebastian leads a Dad’s Cabaret on March 6, as part of Tropical Bear Week. Daddies and cabaret?! I might swoon! Then a peek into next week with sultry Stefano May steaming things up on March 7. With all respect to T.S. Eliot, who said, “March is the cruelest month.” He never spent it at Hunters!

CRUISING THE AIRPORT HOTEL

… has never been more fun. Aloft Hotels’ Fort Lauderdale Airport location hosts a daily happy hour from 5-7 p.m. at two locations within the hotel. The WXYZ Bar in the lobby, and Splash Bar, the stunning rooftop lounge adjacent to the hotel pool. Enjoy beer, wine, and cocktails, including the hotel’s signature “Boombox,” a tropical-inspired rum punch that comes in a playful, shareable glass. Maybe you’ll even find a traveling businessman looking for a little fun! Or just relax and enjoy some tasty light bites, including tacos, wings, and sides featured on the bars’ menu.
