FlockFest Events are dedicated to raising both critical funds and essential awareness for local nonprofit organizations, with a strong emphasis on championing the LGBTQ community. They are driven by the belief in the power of events to generate positive impact and lasting change in the communities they serve.
Since 2015 FlockFest has grown to become a major social function. It was founded by Steven Crawford as a small gathering of friends at the beach with swan floats and a promise of a great time.
Now it’s won three Readers' Choice categories: Best Fundraiser, Best LGBTQ Nonprofit and Best Social Group.
As evidenced by their wins – the organization is more than just a beach party.
They host regular rooftop pool parties, and dining out events. Recently they hosted a LipSync battle for Broward House raising $30,000 for its assisted living facility that was damaged in a Fort Lauderdale flood.
“We have the best volunteers. Always willing to help out,” noted Kevin Clevenger.
Their mission is to also help other nonprofits, and they do so through in-kind donations, volunteers, assistance with event planning and promotions.
Steven Crawford attributes their growth and popularity to the organization’s board.
”We have a strong board of directors,” he said.
But back to that beach party for a moment. It’s grown into a massive event with over 800 floats, 1,500 VIP attendees, and thousands of participants on the beach.
