Luxury, Love and a Little Disney Magic at Waldorf Astoria Orlando

There are anniversary trips, and then there are anniversary trips where champagne is waiting, flowers are delicately placed around the room and bath bombs practically beg you to cancel your plans, fill the tub and forget that the outside world exists.

For our anniversary getaway, Sebastian and I had a chance to escape at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando, where the celebration began before we had even unpacked. The hotel team welcomed us with the kind of warmth and attention that made us feel less like guests and more like the most important couple in the building. Every detail, from the flowers to the champagne, felt personal, thoughtful and genuinely celebratory.

Nestled inside a 482-acre nature preserve near Walt Disney World, the resort somehow balances two completely different vacation moods. Guests can spend the day chasing theme-park thrills and then return to a polished retreat where the pace immediately slows. As an official Walt Disney World hotel, it also offers complimentary transportation to the parks and early-entry privileges, making it easy to combine Disney magic with a much more grown-up level of pampering.

The newly refreshed guest rooms and suites feel elegant without being intimidating. They are designed for lingering, sleeping late beneath luxurious linens, enjoying coffee in a robe and debating whether leaving the room is necessary. Romantic touches made the space feel even more special. The champagne added sparkle, the flowers brought color and sweetness to the room, and the bath bombs were a playful invitation to slow down after months of work, deadlines and everyday responsibilities.

Days at the resort can be as relaxed or active as guests choose. Two tranquil pools, private cabanas, an acclaimed spa and an 18-hole golf course create plenty of reasons to remain on the property. Waldorf Astoria guests can also enjoy the lazy river and water slide at the neighboring Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek.

For couples craving a real reset, the Waldorf Astoria Spa offers customized therapies in a soothing setting where relaxation feels like the main event, not an item squeezed into the itinerary.

Even if you do not book an entire spa day, making time for a treatment, or simply enjoying a slower afternoon by the pool, adds another layer of luxury to the escape.

Of course, romance and fabulous food belong together, and Bull & Bear gives couples an excellent reason to dress up. The award-winning restaurant has the warmth of a private club, with views of the resort’s pool and golf course and a menu that reimagines classic steakhouse dining.

Signature offerings include the playful Pasta Explosion and Chateaubriand for Two, while dramatic tableside presentations turn dinner into its own form of entertainment. Desserts such as the Lemon, Ring of Yuzu and Chocolate Bar offer a suitably decadent finale.

Yet the most memorable part of the weekend was not a single amenity or meal. It was the way the staff made us feel. Luxury can be beautiful rooms, marble bathrooms and perfectly chilled champagne, but true hospitality is emotional. It is the feeling that someone noticed why you came and cared enough to make the occasion unforgettable.

For Sebastian and me, Waldorf Astoria Orlando offered the best of several worlds: Disney magic nearby, quiet luxury waiting when we returned and enough romance to remind us why getting away together still matters after all these years.

Sometimes love deserves flowers. Sometimes it deserves champagne. And sometimes it deserves a beautiful hotel room, a bath bomb and permission to do absolutely nothing, together.

Waldorf Astoria Orlando is located at 14200 Bonnet Creek Resort Lane in Orlando.
