Goodbye Yellow Brick, hello Pride flag crosswalk. Delray Beach is celebrating Pride on June 10 with their annual Delray Beach Pride Fest & Concert.

The event starts at 4 p.m. on NE 2nd Ave. in Pineapple Grove and is free to the public.

Vendors and live entertainment will delight the crowds from the start, with the headliner act taking the stage at 7:30 p.m. The Rocket Man Show is a supremely popular Elton John tribute band, and will be playing at the Old School Square Pavilion.

The occasion is also being used as a reason to spruce up the Pridescape painting at the intersection of NE 2nd Ave. and NE 1st St. The colors of the Pride flag were first laid down in 2021. Shortly thereafter it was vandalized and repaired.

However, time, wear, and tear take their toll and it needs maintenance. The intersection will be closed until Sunday for repairs and the Pride events.
