The distinctive smell of Caribbean food wafts through the air as music jams as a hype-filled palate cleanser. People in colorful costumes mingle and firedancers fling flames. These are all the hallmarks of PrideFête, the LGBTQ celebration of Caribbean culture.

The party returns this Saturday, Aug. 8, at Richardson Park in Wilton Manors. Gate is at 6 p.m. and the party only gets wilder as the sky gets darker.

Octavia Yearwood is back for her fifth time as host.

“I love any space where I can be my absolute self,” she said. “I just love being able to connect with community and dance.”

Connecting with culture and community will be easy at PrideFête. Trinidadian, Haitian, and Latin Caribbean food vendors will serve up flavors while musical entertainers will include LSE Steel Pan Band and Karnival Bounce. Nightfall will bring its fire dance performance, and there will be a costume/masquerade drum promenade through the food and booths up to the stage featuring Carnival Costume dancers and drummers.

Keeping the beats going will be DJ Shakiera.

Those are the scheduled items, but Octavia is ready to go off-script.

“Listen, I am here for the shenanigans. Please, shenan with me!”

Tickets are $7 in advance. For tickets and more information, visit Hotspots.LGBT/Pridefete2026.
