A pair of surveys over the last week show OutSFL readers are united against former President Donald Trump. The first survey, conducted during the week of July 15, before President Joe Biden withdrew from the race, showed that only 10% of respondents supported Trump.
Since June 27, when Biden debated Trump, there has been mounting pressure on him to resign after his dismal performance. On July 21, Biden finally succumbed to that pressure and dropped out of the race, quickly endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for president. In just over 24 hours, she raised over $100 million, breaking records. By July 22, she had secured the support of enough delegates to become the presumptive nominee for the Democratic Party.
An overnight survey conducted July 23 showed a similar result, with only 9% supporting Trump.
The first survey showed 85% supporting Biden, 3% of respondents were undecided, and 2% would vote third party.
But when the choice was narrowed to Biden and Trump, Biden’s support rose to 90% while Trump’s stayed at 10%.
The second survey, which is still open, showed 91% supporting Harris, 1% of respondents were undecided, and 1% would vote third party. Meanwhile, Trump received 7%.
When the choice was narrowed to just Harris and Trump, Harris’ support remained at 91%, while Trump’s rose to 10%.
The first survey was conducted from July 15 to 21, with 263 respondents. The second survey opened on July 23, with 217 respondents so far. Both surveys asked three questions: where the respondent lives; who they support, which included options for undecided, third party, and won’t vote; and the last question only gave two options: the Democratic nominee and Trump.
