Chuck King was able to wake up and take a deep, relaxing breath Monday morning. Lauderdale Tropical Bear Week, and the months of work in the lead up, were over.

“My head is spinning. I’ve been working every event day and night, and I’m ready to have a day off.”

Bear Week was six days of events celebrating the Bear community and included a cabaret night hosted by FayWhat?! and Eric Restivo. One day of seeing the bears heading out on a river cruise, throwing a party in Richardson Park, enjoying pool and dance parties and great weather, and you get an experience like none other.

“It’s been amazing. The people have been amazing. The crowds have been great, the food has been great. The parties are awesome,” King gushed.

Headlining Saturday night at Bear Village was disco diva Ultra Naté, working the stage and the crowd like nobody’s business.

Drag icon Meatball was throwing shade while hosting the stage and emceeing the very sexy cupcake eating contest. She also shared the stage with BFF Tina Burner and DJ GSP. Other musical acts included Justin Brian Crum and Alexander Zenos.

King says the crowds were bigger and the hotels were fuller than in years past, declaring Lauderdale Tropical Bear Week 2025 a success.

“We’ve put on a great show for the community this year, and I think we’ll see some more growth next year. I could not be happier.”
