Summer reading season is already looking dangerously good for YA fans, and these upcoming releases from Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group absolutely deserve a spot on your TBR.

"All We Hunger For" by Anna Mercier (06/23/2026) immediately caught my attention because it basically feels like The Great British Bake Off collided with fantasy intrigue and rebellion.  
 
The story follows Elara, a young woman who secretly enters a magical baking competition, only to find herself tangled in dangerous aristocratic secrets while unrest begins to grow throughout the city. Add romance, dual POVs, and high stakes, and this one already sounds wildly addictive. 

If your summer reading vibe leans more thriller and sci-fi, "Augusta Pine Does Not Exist" by Emily Lloyd-Jones (07/07/2026) sounds like one of those books you stay up way too late reading.  
 
Following a teen hacker pulled into a dangerous fight against cyberterrorists, this story promises suspense, action, and plenty of twists along the way. The fact that it’s already earned two starred reviews has me intrigued. 

And for fantasy readers searching for their next obsession, "Alchemy of Souls" by Adriana Mather (08/04/2026) feels tailor-made for fans of magical schools, fake dating tropes, and atmospheric mysteries. Centered around two magically bound teens racing to solve the mystery behind an ancient magical key, and the book sounds like its equal parts romantic, adventurous, and chaotic in the best way possible. Honestly, anytime someone mentions “fake-dating magic-school romance,” I’m already sold.
