In February, we joined nine other news organizations in an initiative with Trusting News, aimed at fostering transparency around the use of Artificial Intelligence in journalism. This initiative is supported by a grant from the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation.

As part of this initiative, OutSFL has been testing public-facing AI disclosures within some of our stories. These disclosures explain when and how AI tools have been used in our reporting, and has included surveys to gauge reader responses and improve transparency efforts.
