From the moment we walked in, something felt different, in the best way. My husband Sebastian and I hadn’t even taken a seat yet when I noticed the glowing board above the hostess stand.
There it was: a personal welcome just for me, honoring my visit as their very first VIP media guest. My heart melted. I’ve covered a lot of places, but few have made me feel this special. It was one of those moments you don’t forget.
And it wasn’t just a sign. It was the warm smiles, the thoughtful greeting, and a genuine excitement that made me feel like I was part of something new and bold. I couldn’t help but hug the manager.
That’s the thing with 26° Brewery & Kitchen. It greets you like a friend, wraps you in community, and invites you to stay awhile.
Ambiance That Balances Cool & Comfort
Located just blocks from the beach in Pompano, 26° has transformed from a beloved craft brewery into a full-blown culinary destination.
With 6,000 square feet of redesigned space, it manages to feel both roomy and intimate. There’s an expansive bar that commands attention, high ceilings that make the space feel open and inviting, and seating options that cater to both casual meetups and cozy date nights.
We immediately took in the fun, laid-back décor, charming murals, industrial touches, and quirky details that reflect the brewery’s playful heart.
The outdoor patio adds an airy touch for those craving sunshine with their sip, while inside, the lively crowd and warm lighting make it perfect for lingering.
The History (and Future) Behind the Brews
Since 2017, 26° Brewing Co. has been known across South Florida for its award-winning beers and strong community presence. Now, thanks to the vision of friends and owners Yonathan Ghersi, Oscar Olikowicz, Jason Ferreira, and Greg Lieberman, it’s stepping into a delicious new chapter.
Partnering with acclaimed Miami chef Daniel Serfer and Executive Chef Fergus Conneely, the brewery has grown into something more: a place where expertly brewed pints meet chef-driven cuisine.
Their mission? Create the ultimate balance between beer and food, with bold flavors that feel familiar, surprising, and utterly satisfying.
We were impressed with the fact that those who visit will have the option to enjoy this, a new type of experience when it comes to the pairing of food and beer in this laid-back city in South Florida.
A Menu Made for Savoring
People can expect dishes that hit every craving, including salty, savory, spicy, and sweet dishes.
Standouts include Crispy Gator Bites, soaked in hot sauce and buttermilk for a bold bite; Irish Bangers, which are braised in the brewery’s own stout and topped with smoked bacon and caramelized onions; and the Pompano Beef Dip, loaded with house-roasted beef, pulled oxtail, giardiniera, and a rich dipping jus.
Lighter fare shines, too, like the Bahamian Conch Salad, made refreshing with citrus and chilis. And for something comforting and unique? The Brewer’s Pot Pie brings a rich Irish flair with ground lamb, golden pastry, and mashed Yukon gold potatoes.
Each dish is crafted to elevate your drink, creating a seamless pairing experience for those who at times might be hesitant to add a fancier or different type of dish to enjoy alongside a cold brew.
The Craft Brews That Started It All
Of course, beer remains at the heart of the experience.
Their signature lineup includes the popular IPA1A, a hop-forward India Pale Ale at 6.4% ABV, and Thirst Control, a crisp and easygoing pilsner. Fans of darker, richer brews will find their match in Ziko’s Rage, an 8.2% Imperial Stout, while Captain Ron offers a lighter wheat beer perfect for beach vibes.
And for those chasing the unexpected, their seasonal selections bring out the fun: think Creamsicle Sour Ale, Cinnamon Toasted Red Ale, and the passion fruit-infused Guarapita Sour.
There’s something for every type of beer enthusiast, and more being brewed all the time, which makes it the type of place for friendly gatherings where you can just sit at their bar, chatting with your people, while trying out different beers.
I recommend starting with a beer flight, like I did. I’m known for being a bit indecisive. Maybe it’s the Libra in me, but the beer flight gave me a chance to try out four of their brews before I made the decision on which pint I wanted to have.
Yet, I’m still undecided if it was my favorite, which means I might just have to go back.
Warm, exciting, and deliciously welcoming, 26° Brewery & Kitchen isn’t just expanding, but they’re elevating. With heartfelt hospitality and a thoughtfully curated menu, they’ve created a destination that feels like home, just with a few additional rockstar perks.
For me, that magical welcome wasn’t just a moment, it was a reminder of why I love doing what I do.
Being a journalist and an educator makes me proud and happy, and I love telling these types of stories so much where others might just be tempted to explore a new place, let it be a dining or travel destination.
And for anyone stepping inside for the first time, expect to feel the same kind of joy and belonging that made me hug the staff member with gratitude. It’s just the way they are, and it’s a wonderful way to be.
