When you step into Fort Lauderdale’s newest gem, the Sunness Supper Club, you’re greeted by an ambiance that feels like stepping into a dream. Sleek and glittering, the restaurant’s design captivates with its expansive U-shaped marble bar, sage green and neutral tones, and elegant touches of gold and leather.

Sunness Supper Club, now open on historic Sunrise Boulevard, is set to redefine dining with its soulful American cuisine, craft cocktails, and an inviting setting.

Meaning, this is your time to visit and discover a new gem.

A Tribute to Family and Community

Owner Michael Stanley, a seasoned industry professional, created Sunness Supper Club in honor of his late grandfather. The name itself pays homage to the man who inspired Michael’s love for great food and shared moments, and the restaurant is named after his beloved grandfather.

Though this is Michael’s first brick-and-mortar concept, he’s no stranger to the culinary world. From running MK Takeaways, a ghost kitchen offering fresh, chef-prepared meals, to founding the organic baby food company Yummy in My Tummy, Michael’s dedication to quality and innovation shines.

With Sunness Supper Club, his goal was to create a neighborhood staple that feels both elevated and accessible. And the space glows with exactly that feeling.

Trust me when I saw that when you walk in you’ll feel like Michael truly created a concept where class and family unite. It’s the perfect homage to a special someone, such as his grandfather, making it a great place to take your own special someone.

A Menu That Delights the Senses

Sunness Supper Club’s menu, a collaboration between Michael and James Beard Award-winning Chef Allen Susser, blends classic American cuisine with global influences.

Each dish features mindfully sourced ingredients, offering a tightly curated yet varied selection. Highlights include the “Table Tossed” Caesar Salad, Wood Fire Blistered Corn Ribs topped with queso fresco and mini popcorn, and Wood Fired Mussels paired with sourdough for dipping.

When I mention that there’s something for everyone, it’s true. This is the type of place that is not afraid to give diners a menu full of variety and comfort food style dishes.

From the grill, standout options like Chargrilled Angus Beef Skirt Steak and Florida Lobster Tail promise to impress.

Other tempting dishes include Cabernet Braised Short Rib with mashed potatoes and honey garlic carrots, and Smoked Maple Glazed Salmon served with farro, spinach, and a dash of pinot noir.

Every bite is a testament to the passion and creativity poured into the menu, ensuring a dining experience that’s as memorable as it is flavorful.

While there, my husband and I had a chance to indulge on the Crispy Spicy tuna, and we each selected a steak from the grill. And, the service was impeccable, and the knowledgeable and lively server was not afraid to give recommendations that were spot on and matched what we wanted to try based on our tastes.

Cocktails That Sparkle — Literally

No supper club is complete without an exceptional bar program, and Sunness delivers thanks to mixologist Ally Champion, formerly of Gastrotech and Apothecary 330.

The handcrafted cocktails are as vibrant as the dishes they’re paired with, boasting bold flavors and a touch of whimsy. Signature drinks include the Teatime, a refreshing blend of Ti’ Punch rum, lime, and fresh mango; Dream Scape, a tropical daiquiri-style concoction; and the show-stopping Underoath Old Fashioned, made with Misguided whiskey, silver glitter, demerara, and orange bitters.

Whether you’re looking for a classic cocktail or something with a modern twist, the bar’s offerings are sure to dazzle.

We promise you that the old-fashioned is one that you must try, and the presentation is entertaining and gorgeous, as they smoke it right in front of your eyes.

A Space Designed to Impress

Located at 2465 East Sunrise Boulevard, Sunness Supper Club’s entrance is tucked at the rear of the building, offering a sense of exclusivity as you wind through a hallway reminiscent of a secret passage.

Once inside, the nearly 6,000-square-foot space can seat up to 130 guests, offering a mix of low and high-top tables, cozy half-moon booths, and spacious banquettes.

The design blends warmth and sophistication, with artisanal wood, marble, and leather elements creating an inviting yet upscale atmosphere. The bar, adorned with hanging wood-finished wine racks, is a clear focal point, seating up to 30 guests.

Elegant glass and wood cabinets displaying bottle selections add dimension between the bar and dining area, while a wood-fired oven enhances the space’s visual and figurative warmth.

It was a soothing experience to dine there, and while conversations could be heard, it’s a lovely spot to decompress, one that invites relaxation and indulgence.

A Stage for Entertainment and Connection

Music, live performances, and special events are integral to the Sunness Supper Club experience.

As a true supper club, it’s as much about the ambiance and entertainment as it is about the food and drinks.

Looking ahead to 2025, the second phase of the concept will introduce an upstairs speakeasy overlooking the dining room, further enhancing the venue’s allure.

Michael’s vision for Sunness Supper Club is clear: to create a space where every element, from the glittering cocktails to the immersive design, works together to foster connection and celebration.

It’s the type of place that you’ll remember past your visit, and one that you’ll want to share with others that will love and enjoy a different type of dining experience.
