Some cafés just make you want to stay a little longer, and Madame Olivia falls into that category.

When Sharma and I visited this charming North Miami spot, it quickly became clear why so many people have been quietly recommending it and why I was so excited to visit it and experience the café.

It has that rare combination of feeling stylish yet comfortable, making it just as perfect for a relaxed coffee as it is for a long brunch conversation. Madame Olivia blends French baking tradition with Mediterranean flavors, creating a menu that feels thoughtful without being complicated. The space itself immediately sets the tone. Soft neutral colors, natural light, marble tables, and subtle greenery give the café a calm, welcoming energy. One of the most enjoyable details is the glass-enclosed bakery area, where you can see breads and pastries being prepared throughout the day.

One of the things that stand out are the pastries. The Coffee Cream Croissant was flaky and buttery with a smooth coffee-infused filling that felt rich without being too sweet. The Cinnamon Cruffin offered layered texture with a soft center coated in cinnamon sugar. We also noticed options like the Halvah & Chocolate Danish and Strawberry Maritozzo, which add a slightly playful twist to classic French pastry traditions.

The bakery is truly at the heart of Madame Olivia. Fresh breads are prepared daily, including challah with a delicate sweetness, walnut and raisin sourdough, and rustic French country loaves that feel perfect on their own or as part of a savory dish.

For brunch or lunch, the Shakshuka stands out with poached eggs in a flavorful tomato and pepper sauce served with warm bread. The Challah French Toast provides a slightly sweet option that feels comforting but balanced. For something heartier, the Short Ribs Challah Sandwich combines tender meat with soft bread that complements the richness of the dish. Salads such as the Brussels Sprouts & Artichoke Hearts Salad and the Quinoa & Feta Salad offer fresh options, while dishes like Mediterranean meatballs with Israeli couscous or roasted salmon with chimichurri labneh highlight the café’s Mediterranean influence.

Coffee is another highlight. Beans sourced from Costa Rica and Brazil are roasted locally in Miami, creating a smooth flavor that pairs well with pastries or brunch dishes.

Smoothies and juices provide refreshing options, including the Green Smoothie with green apple, basil, mint, cucumber, and honey, and the Banana & Dates smoothie with tahini and vanilla protein. What makes Madame Olivia memorable is how comfortable the experience feels. Sharma and I found ourselves lingering longer than expected, enjoying the calm atmosphere and thoughtful menu. The café balances style with warmth, making it easy to return whether for coffee, brunch, or a relaxed afternoon break.

Sure to bring a loyal following in North Miami, Madame Olivia is already planning a Midtown Miami location, bringing its blend of French technique and Mediterranean flavor to even more diners.

Trust me when I say that this is the type of café that you must not miss experiencing. It stays with you long after you leave and becomes one that you will confidently recommend to others, for it is classy, inviting and features a menu that truly has something for everyone.
