Spark United AHF/SunServe
Spark United is AHF’s women’s affinity group the was created to provide support, purpose, advocacy, resource, and knowledge to all that identifies as a female. Some events you can partake include Lunch or Brunch & Learn with topics like financial literacy.
Spark United empowers women and girls with the knowledge and resources to embrace their authentic selves.
Bears of South Florida
“The Bears of South Florida are an amazing group. Everyone is incredibly friendly, willing to pitch in and help, and genuinely caring about one another. The money raised throughout the year goes to wonderful, deserving charities, and it's heartwarming to see how we as a group can help the community in so many ways,” said Jamie Gregory.
“... There is a chemistry of acceptance and body positivity among the bear community in general and this one in particular. I have found confidence in this group of men and have made new friendships with many of them,” said Rob Smith.
Horror Hunks, Scream Queens and Occult Nonconforming
Denim Keith, the founder of Wilton Manors Horror Hunks, Scream Queens, and Occult Non-Conforming, spoke to OutSFL about the goals of the group.
“Our ultimate goal is to provide a space where LGBTQ+ individuals can form genuine connections and share their love for horror in a way that transcends the typical bar scene. While horror is the platform for our community, our mission is to build a safe and welcoming environment for the LGBTQ+ community of Wilton Manors and greater South Florida, offering an alternative to the usual bar, sex, and drug culture sometimes associated with the area.”
Front Runners and Walkers of Fort Lauderdale
“I first joined the Front Runners because I love walking, and I heard they organized many local activities. To my surprise, I found a group of diverse and passionate people who love to get together for various fun activities,” said Edger de Velasco.
“We are a group of open-minded individuals who share a passion for walking, running, and building community. I am very happy to be part of the Front Runners Network.”
FlockFest
FlockFest began as a small gathering of friends at the beach with swan floats and a promise of a great time. It has grown into a massive event with over 800 floats, 1,500 VIP attendees, and thousands more participants on the beach.
Beyond the beach gatherings, FlockFest is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to partnering with other nonprofits, organizing events, and co-hosting fundraisers to impact the community.
