For more than 30 years, Tuesday’s Angels provided vital and compassionate support to South Floridians living with HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1993 by a group of retired Washington, D.C. residents, the organization raised several million dollars through community dinners and bike rides — funds that were distributed directly to individuals and families facing medical crises, financial hardship, and end-of-life needs. Tuesday’s Angels became a lifeline during some of the most challenging periods of the epidemic.
As part of its formal dissolution in 2018, Tuesday’s Angels transferred its remaining assets to The Our Fund Foundation to establish the Tuesday’s Angels Donor-Advised Fund, intended to be granted out over a ten-year period ending in 2028.
Given today’s urgent needs — particularly the significant funding cuts facing HIV/AIDS service providers — the majority of former Tuesday’s Angels trustees have requested that the remaining balance, approximately $70,000, be distributed by the end of 2025. These funds will be awarded through Our Fund’s Health & Wellness grants to agencies directly serving people living with HIV/AIDS.
This accelerated timeline honors the longstanding mission of Tuesday’s Angels: to respond swiftly and compassionately to community need. The Our Fund Foundation is privileged to steward this final chapter and to uphold the legacy of an organization that touched thousands of lives with dignity and generosity.
