Miami’s biggest celebration of books, culture, and community is almost here, and I couldn’t be more excited.
From November 16–23, 2025, the Miami Book Fair returns to Miami Dade College’s downtown campus, bringing with it that unmistakable Magic City vibrancy, such as the music, the voices, the languages, and the joy of readers coming together.
It’s one of my favorite literary events of the year, and this edition promises to be one of the most electrifying yet.
A Global Event with Miami Flair
What makes the Miami Book Fair so special is its heart: hundreds of authors, storytellers, thinkers, and creators from all over the world gathering in our city to celebrate the power of words.
Expect a lineup rich with voices from multiple cultures and genres, such as fantasy, memoir, romance, politics, poetry, queer lit, YA, Caribbean narratives, Latin American literature, and everything in between. You’ll find panels for every taste, plus endless opportunities to discover new writers to fall in love with.
The multilingual programming continues to shine, with sessions offered in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole, reflecting Miami’s unique cultural mosaic.
And of course, the beloved Street Fair returns with food vendors, publishers, artisans, music, and more than enough book browsing to fill your tote bag (or two).
A Night of Monsters, Magic & Love in the Dark Panel
This year, I am honored to moderate one of the Fair’s most thrilling fantasy and horror-forward sessions, a gathering of powerhouse authors redefining dark YA romance and supernatural storytelling.
In Kalynn Bayron’s deliciously eerie "Make Me a Monster," a newly certified mortician’s assistant discovers that the family funeral home hides secrets far more unusual, and dangerous, than she ever imagined.
The story twists classic "Frankenstein" elements into a fresh, emotional tale of identity, power, and what it truly means to be monstrous.
J. Elle brings the fire with "Fortress of Ambrose," the explosive final book in the New York Times bestselling House of Marionne trilogy. Expect forbidden love, sharp-edged magic, political intrigue, and a war that forces its characters to decide what, and who, is worth saving as everything around them burns.
In "The Last Vampire," Romina Garber blends dark academia with supernatural lore: a girl enters a charming boarding school expecting a swoony Mr. Darcy but instead encounters the world’s last living vampire, a secret that shatters everything she thought she knew about love, myth, and destiny.
Rounding out the panel is Britney S. Lewis with "Blood Moon," where forgotten Midwestern legends of vampires and wolf-guardians come roaring back to life. What begins as a chilling folklore mystery becomes a revelation for Mira, a girl whose past, and future, is tangled in a centuries-old romance and a monstrous truth.
This session spotlights the authors at the forefront of YA horror-romance, exploring the darkness we fear, the monsters we love, and the stories that transform us.
I’m truly honored to moderate a conversation that promises to be fierce, tender, and wildly imaginative, and everything I love about YA.
