I Wasn’t Born Bad, I Was Just Written This Way!
Take a nostalgic trip back to vintage Hollywood featuring femme fatales radiating sexy style with sass in Island City Stage's “Pulp,” running April 11-May 5. Through wisecracks, classic deadpan deliveries, and clever double-entendres set to a 1950s period score, “Pulp” takes audiences on a provocative and enjoyable journey of self-discovery and acceptance as they visit The Well, a teeming-with-sex women’s bar steeped in film noir as both an homage and a parody. You must experience this heartfelt, comedic love letter to lesbian pulp fiction and the Barbara Stanwycks of the world. I saw a production in Chicago, and it was terrific.
