A STREAK OF LAVENDER

“A streak of lavender, spots as soft as May violets,” presented by Gasper Arts Center in Dania Beach through Sept. 1 is an immersive art installation exploring the codifying, pejorative usage, and symbolism of floral botany across the histories of the queer community, to disseminate histories, reclaim language, and rejoice in nature’s beauty. Utilizing hand-built ceramic sculptures, paintings, and drawings; viewers will enter an imagined, luxuriant “garden” of green carnations, lavender, pansies, and violets.

GOING GREEN AT NIGHT

Treetop Trekking Miami, the premier aerial adventure destination for outdoor enthusiasts, is thrilled to announce the launch of Night Trek, an exhilarating twilight adventure for adrenaline seekers looking to explore nature in a whole new light and escape the blistering summer heat. Situated above the lush tropical setting of Jungle Island, the self-guided tour invites participants to hike, swing, zipline, and navigate through the trees with only the illumination of the moon and a headlamp to guide the way.

Night Trek offers an extraordinary way for thrill-seekers to experience Treetop Trekking Miami while immersing themselves in the serene beauty of Jungle Island’s nature after dusk. Ascending to 55 feet above the ground, equipped with harnesses and helmets, participants navigate suspension bridges, conquer balance games, and glide through the air on zip lines under the starlit sky.

"As the sun sets and the temperatures cool, Night Trek offers a truly unique Miami experience to kick off the weekend and enjoy the outdoors after dark,” said Jean-François Couture, chief marketing officer of The Trekking Group. “Whether it's for a romantic date night, a team building excursion, or a family bonding adventure, this one-of-a-kind activity promises unforgettable experiences for all.”

In addition to Night Trek, Treetop Trekking Miami features daytime experiences available daily, providing a fresh perspective of Miami. While traversing the aerial adventure courses, guests enjoy picturesque views of the Magic City, Biscayne Bay, and the rare animals that inhabit the park.

Night Trek will operate on Fridays throughout the summer. Participants aged 9 and above can join the Night Trek adventure for $99 plus tax per person, which includes access to the two Explorer Trek courses. Due to high demand and limited availability, reservations are required at least 48 hours in advance. Refunds or reschedules are only provided in the case of weather-related closings. Weight and height restrictions apply.

Located at Jungle Island, Treetop Trekking Miami provides accessibility for all adventurers. For more information go to miamitreetoptrekking.com.
