What’s at the OUTshine LGBTQ Film Festival this year?
More than 60 films to make you laugh, cry, gasp, and “clutch the pearls” in gay delight. Splitting its time with a week of scheduling in the Miami area, followed by a week in the Fort Lauderdale area, as well as streaming options, OUTshine offers plenty of opportunities to see both mainstream films. It also has smaller, indie productions that you might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience. With in-person appearances by actors, producers, and directors, those attending OUTshine get an insider's view of filmmaking.
The list of films screening in the Fort Lauderdale area runs the gamut from big studio romances to indie thrillers and comedies. It all begins on Thursday, April 24 at Regal Dania Pointe with the centerpiece film for the Broward screenings, Accidental Friends (Amici Per Caso).* With an after-party at Bowlero in Dania Pointe. The majority of the films are screened at The Gateway Theater on Sunrise in Fort Lauderdale. The closing night film Four Mothers will screen at Savor Cinema Fort Lauderdale with a reception following the film.
