Compass Community Center, the LGBTQ+ Community Center of the Palm Beaches, was founded in 1988 as the Stop AIDS Project and eventually morphed into the organization we know today.
Compass, located in Lake Worth Beach, provides lifesaving services for people with HIV and members of the LGBTQ+ community. It provides social, health, and support services for the community.
“Compass is deeply grateful for being recognized as the Best Nonprofit this year. We recognize that we would not receive this recognition were it not for the continuing support of our community,” said Michael Riordan, Compass Director of Media and Communication. “Because of you, we will be able to continue providing life-saving resources to the LGBTQ+ community and those living with HIV/AIDS for years to come. Our goal is to make sure that Palm Beach County remains a tolerant, accepting place where people of all different backgrounds and experiences can live together and exist in a safe place.”
