Night Runners president Ryan Thompson said winning four Your Choice Awards was a reflection of the organization’s hard work.
“[It’s] a significant milestone, and it's both humbling and rewarding to see the community's support,” Thompson said. “It shows us that our commitment to inclusivity and fitness is valued by so many, and it motivates us to keep growing and enhancing our impact.”
Night Runners was awarded Best Nonprofit, Best Workout, Best Social Group and Best Annual Event for its Pride 5k Run/Walk.
The LGBTQ-centered organization blends community and workout, Thompson said. Night Runners offers twice-weekly runs and walks at Howard Park for free.
“By offering [this] group for the LGBTQ+ community and allies, we’ve created a space that’s as much about social connection as it is about physical activity,” Thompson said. “The sense of unity and belonging we see within our group is something we’re incredibly proud of and hope to continue fostering.”
