Alexander Zenoz won Best Musician in this year’s Your Choice Awards. Zenoz has been especially busy this year leading the ArtsUnited Celebrating Diversity series, which kicked off in January with “Alexander and the Birds of Paradise.”
“I created this show, to not only give opportunity, but to give representation. We have people in our cast, who are from all different backgrounds of life,” Zenoz told OutSFL at the time. “[The cast is] representative of the LGBTQ community. They're representative of different races, and religions and ideologies, but always [with a] progressive mentality.”
Zenoz is Cuban-American and was born and raised in Miami. The singer is grateful for the support of OutSFL readers.
“As an artist, I pour my heart and soul into my craft, striving to share the best of what I have with the communities I love,” he said. “Knowing that this love and respect is mutual fills me with gratitude and inspires me to continue following my dreams and creating.”
Next up the singer will soon release an original album “Bird’s Eye View.”
“We’re also excited to be bringing that music to life through future music videos and concerts,” he said.
Being an artist isn’t always easy and Zenoz has faced plenty of obstacles but he never gives up.
“Each setback has taught me valuable lessons, prompting me to pivot and adapt my approach. This journey has not only strengthened my artistry but also deepened my connection to our community,” he said. “I draw inspiration from our shared struggles, and my music reflects that resilience, serving as a testament to the power of perseverance. I hope to inspire others to keep pushing forward, no matter the challenges they face.
You can catch Zenoz at the West End Lounge every Tuesday from 8-9:30 p.m.
