Barbers are on their feet for long hours, rotating, stooping, craning their necks, and it all takes a toll, especially on your back and knees.
They work with people, not all of them pleasant, wielding sharp tools, and that can be a lot of pressure. They need to learn how to cut hair in ever-changing styles, use clippers and scissors. It takes practice, patience and perseverance to master and maintain these skills. But it has its rewards.
"As a Master Barber I enjoy doing it all but I must say beards have a special place in my heart," said Dustin C., owner of Barberology Men's Salon in Oakland Park. "I am truly humbled to have won Best Barber two years in a row. Knowing my work is appreciated by so many clients is the best feeling anyone could ever ask for."
