With electric live performances and a stellar lineup of drinks, Aquaplex isn’t a venue you’ll want to miss on your trip to Key West.
Jonathan and Michael Barrett were voted Best Business Owner in Key West. They bought the complex in 2023. The pair though isn’t staying put, they also recently bought Lips, a popular hotspot in Fort Lauderdale.
“This is an exciting venture for us as we spread our wings from Key West to South Florida,” said Michael and Jonathan Barrett after they bought the iconic restaurant and drag bar. “We love drag, and we love it here, so it is the perfect venue for us to personalize and make our own. Our Key West experience and success have provided us with inspiration, and we’re looking forward to visualizing it in Fort Lauderdale.”
Aquaplex features five experiences in the same building, including a drag nightclub and a bar.
Located at 711 Duval Street, Aquaplex is open from noon to 2 a.m. every day.
The venue also features savory dining options from the Aqua Belle Fusion Food Truck.
One of the fixture of the Aquaplex is the drag performer Maya Montana, who the readers voted as Best Drag Performer. In addition, Mark W. who is a staple of the venue, won for Best Bartender.
