Meet your neighbor and meet your neighborhood businesses. Have a few laughs and have a few snacks.

Local realtor Jimmy Cunningham is holding his third annual Community Appreciation Event at Hagen Park on Sept. 25 from 5-7 p.m. He is everywhere all the time in and around Wilton Manors. This familiarity with the concerns of residents and businesses inspired him to make sure each is familiar with the other, especially nonprofits.

“Our ever-growing population of nonprofits continue to need assistance and visibility in our community,” Cunningham said. “It’s a pleasure to be able to continue to expose so many of the nonprofits.”

Nonprofits will have their own tables loaded with information and friendly representatives. Some new attendees this year include Wilton Manors Voice and Harmony Waves.

DJ Minutella will be spinning beats, while The Drive’s newest confectionary, Cake Daddy’s, will be handling the desserts. Hunters will be providing bar staff. Light finger foods will be served, and Cunningham there will be plenty and no one will leave hungry.

Aside from the food and fun, Cunningham wants people to leave feeling more connected to their community.

“The whole point is to continue to keep the exposure of our nonprofits at the pinnacle of everyone’s mind. I know several will be able to talk about the mission statements, upcoming shows, and upcoming special events. The list is endless.”
