The Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of diversity and inclusion for businesses owned and operated by members of the LGBTQ+ community throughout South Florida, and in January 2023, launched a new business networking group called Out for Business.
The idea of developing an LGBT+ business networking group with the Pompano Chamber was spearheaded by Co-Chair Marcy Kabolowsky, VP Banking Center Manager with Seacoast Bank, last fall.
“At Seacoast, we believe in fostering an environment where every associate feels comfortable and confident bringing their whole selves to work,” said Kabolowsky. “I became attracted to the Out for Business idea because it was the first of its kind for the Pompano Beach Chamber. This group includes all, and I feel proud to be a co-chair since the inception and look forward to growing this amazing group.”
Jean McIntyre, President and CEO, Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, agreed. “Through the board of directors, the Chamber has worked very hard to ensure we reflect our entire community. And we consider this another important step.”
Clark Rogers, VP of Business Development for the Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, was tasked with its implementation.
“Making this group fun was the top priority,” Rogers added. “We take pride in our Midwestern friendliness where every business professional is welcomed and made to feel included.”
John Guglielmi with Chase Roofing serves as Chair, and Jeff Dunaway with Seacoast Bank as Co-Chair.
Out for Business meets the first Thursday of the month. Registration is available on the Events page at PompanoBeachChamber.com or by calling 954.941.2940.
