Terry Dyer has lived in South Florida for five years and supported institutions like CAN Community Health, SunServe, and the World AIDS Museum, among others.
In addition to his charity-oriented work, Dyer has volunteered with numerous organizations, written a best-selling book, performed in the local music scene, competes in sports, and had a day named in his honor by the City of Wilton Manors.
Dyer sees himself as “the type of person that really likes to ensure that everyone is receiving the type of support and resources that they need.” Now working as a consultant, Dyer believes in strength in numbers and collaboration, “I know that there is a huge enough sandbox here for everyone to play together and to work together and to try to solve a lot of the disparities that are happening in our community together versus trying to do it themselves. I found that as a consultant, I now have the opportunity to help those who really truly need and want to help, you know?”
With such a full plate of responsibility, Dyer is intentional in his approach, stating, “I really hope that folks see me and understand that all I really truly care about is that we are normalizing the conversation around diversity, equity, and inclusivity … I just think about how I want to show up and show out in the world and I hope folks use my work, my words, the things that I stand for as the change that they also want to see.”
