Reporter and social media manager of OutSFL, Christiana Lilly, has been hired as the new Editor-in-Chief of JES Media, who publishes Boca Raton Magazine.  

“I’ve worked with Christiana for many years and couldn’t be happier for her,” said OutSFL Publisher Jason Parsley. “Boca Magazine is lucky.”

Before OutSFL, Parsley was Lilly’s editor at South Florida Gay News for many years.

“She’s always been one of my most reliable freelancers,” he said. “She’s an excellent reporter and writer. Her passion for storytelling and journalism is apparent in her work.”

JES also publishes Delray Magazine and others.

Lilly is also the author of “100 Things to Do in Fort Lauderdale Before You Die.” She is a past president of the Florida chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

“I have been a contributor to OutSFL and SFGN for years, and it has given me the opportunity not only to report on this underserved community but also be a witness to historic moments in the fight for equality,” Lilly said. “From covering marriage equality, adoption, abortion, crimes against the community, and never letting us forget those who were taken from us in acts of violence, I’ve never been prouder to be an ally.”

Lilly will take over for long-time editor Marie Speed.

“During my tenure as web editor at Boca [Magazine], Marie Speed served as a mentor to me, encouraging me to improve my writing and giving me the space to grow as a leader in the newsroom,” Lilly said. “We’ve kept in touch as I returned to the world of freelance, and I’m honored to be her successor as the editor-in-chief of Boca Magazine.”

Lilly lives in Pompano Beach with her husband Jack.
